Candle Care
Candle Care & Safety Instructions
First Burn: Do not trim the wick before your first burn. We’ve already trimmed it to the correct height for you. Hold your lighter to the wick for approximately 5-10 seconds. Lighting a wooden wick for the first time takes a few extra seconds compared to a cotton wick. Allow your first burn to be 2-3 hours, the melted wax should reach all sides of the glass before extinguishing.
Large Flames: Wooden wicks typically produce a larger flame than cotton wicks. Always burn in sight. Trim wick before each use.
Trimming Wooden Wicks: Using a tissue to cover your fingers, gently remove the fragile ends of the burnt wood. There will be a burnt color remaining on the wick once trimmed. For the best burn possible, you only want to remove the fragile, loose burnt ends of the wick. Only trim the wick when your candle is completely cooled.
Never burn for more than 3-4 hours at a time. Stop burning when there is about ½ inch of wax remaining. Keep away from all flammable objects, pets, and children. Keep out of direct sunlight. Do not allow trimmings, dust, and soot to accumulate in the wax pool.
Crystal & Jar Care
Palo Santo: You can burn it like incense or use it to cleanse the energy of your crystals and your home before lighting your candle.
Cleaning: Only when your candle is cool enough to handle, use a metal utensil or disposable wooden popsicle stick to remove the crystals and stones that you want to keep. Prepare a glass dinning plate with multiple layers of paper towels folded on top. Lay out the crystals or stones on the paper towels. Place the plate in a warm and sunlit area, this will allow the excess wax to melt off the crystals and absorb into the paper towels. Wipeout the jar with a few paper towels until the glass is visibly clean. Then hand wash with hot, soapy water. Repeat as many times as necessary. Once clean you can upcycle, reuse, or donate your jar. Once your stones are visibly clean, use a clean paper towel to wipe off any left-over residue. Then reuse your crystals or add them to your collection!
*Reuse your jar as a planter pot and incorporate your new crystals for a little extra décor!
*Exposing crystals to heat and/ or sunlight can cause them to fade.
*After using your metal utensil, wipe it off with a clean paper towel. Then wash with hot, soapy water and run through the dishwasher.
